2008 (Junior):
A double threat again for the Tigers, Heidi gave Pacific 64 innings of work in 22 appearances as a pitcher, including eight starts and three complete games. She also did some damage as a hitter with a .333 batting average, second-best on the team. Heidi finished the year with a 3-6 record as Pacific's third-best starting pitcher. In one of her complete game efforts, she helped her team to a 3-1 second-game victory over San Jose State during a doubleheader on Mar. 15. Helberg finished the year with 22 strikeouts, allowing 82 hits and only nine doubles and two triples.
2007 (Sophomore):
Moving primarily into the circle for the Tigers during her second season, Heidi finished her sophomore campaign for the Tigers with 28.2 innings pitched in 15 appearances including one start. In the circle, Helberg posted a 3-0 record and a 3.17 ERA for the Pacific in relief. Heidi earned her first career save for the Tigers in the NCAA Regional Tournament after pitching two innings of scoreless relief as Pacific held on to a 12-10 victory over Mississippi State on Mar. 19 to advance to the regional championship game. At the plate, Helberg took just one trip to the plate and scored one run as a pinch-runner for Pacific during the season.
2006 (Freshman):
In her first season as a Tiger, Heidi saw action in 18 games, starting two contests. Primarily a pinch-runner and utility infielder, Helberg posted 14 at-bats on the year, tallying her first collegiate hit in her first plate appearance of the season against Santa Clara on Feb. 11. As a runner, Heidi scored three runs, scoring her first run against Wisconsin in the Tigers' 8-2 win over the Badgers on Mar. 11. In the circle, Heidi saw action in five games, posting a 4.20 ERA while throwing 5.0 innings.
High School:
Helberg is a 2005 graduate of Liberty High School in Brentwood, Calif., where she was a four-year letterwinner in softball. In addition, Heidi earned one varsity letter for basketball while at Liberty. In each of her final three seasons at Liberty, Heidi was named the Lions' team MVP. In addition to team honors, Helberg garnered Second Team All-League honors after her junior and senior seasons and was named an honorable mention after her freshman and sophomore seasons. Academically, Heidi garnered honor roll recognition for her work in the classroom.
Personal:
Heidi Helberg was born in Roseville, Calif. She is the daughter of Jeff and Raema Helberg and has one younger brother, Sam. In her fourth year at Pacific, Heidi is majoring in business administration.
