2006 (Senior): In her final season in the Orange and Black, Hyams became the Tigers everyday left fielder and established herself as the Tigers second hole hitter. Brittany saw action in 48 games throughout the season, starting 42 contests. On the season, Hyams batted .246 scoring driving in 10 runs while scoring 22 runs herself, third among the Tigers. On the base paths, Brittany stole a career-high 12 bases, second most on the team, in 15 attempts. Hyams matched a career-best five game hit streak as the Tigers wrapped up non-conference play. During the stretch, Brittany went 9-for-13 (.692) scoring six runs including a 3-for-5, two run and one RBI performance against Sacramento State on Mar. 26. 2005 (Junior): Brittany returned to form in 2005, playing in 49 games while starting 45. At the plate for Pacific, Hyams batted .259 while knocking in 16 and scoring 25 times. She legged out four doubles and two triples, and once on base, stole nine bases in 10 attempts. After a slow start, Hyams asserted herself during Big West play. Brittany's best performance of the season came in the Tigers' 7-4 win over Cal Poly on Apr. 16 when she went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Nine days later, as the Tigers defeated UC Santa Barbara, 9-3, Hyams once again scored two runs while going 2-for-3 from the plate. Defensively on the season, in the outfield, Hyams committed just one error while playing both corner positions. 2004 (Sophomore): Hyams competed in 40 games for the Tigers as a sophomore, including 25 starts. She collected a .186 batting average (13-for-70) with six runs scored and seven RBI. Brittany had her best game of the season with a 2-for-3 performance and three RBI in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader at Santa Clara on Mar. 31. She posted a .500 (4-for-8) batting average at the Palm Springs Classic Feb. 20-21, with one run scored and one RBI. Hyams was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles in the Tigers' 3-2 upset victory over No. 7 Alabama on Feb. 21. She was named to the Big West Academic All-Conference Team for the 2004 season. 2003 (Freshman): Hyams started each of Pacific's 58 games as a freshman, posting a .279 batting average with two doubles, one triple, seven stolen bases, and two RBI. She led the team and the Big West Conference with 20 sacrifice hits, more than twice as many as the next closest Tiger. Hyams closed the 2003 campaign on a season-high tying five-game hitting streak, including a 4-for-4 effort against UC Riverside in the second game of a doubleheader on May 9. She was honored as a Pacific and Big West Conference Scholar-Athlete for the 2002-03 academic year. High School: Hyams was a 2002 graduate of Edison High School in Huntington Beach, Calif. A four-year letterwinner in softball as a centerfielder, she received All-Sunset League recognition her junior and senior seasons and All-State C.I.F. Scholar-Athlete honors in 2001. Brittany hit a game-winning home run to lead Edison HS past rival Fountain Valley High School and into the playoffs for the first time since the 1980s. Personal: Brittany Hyams was born in Orange, Calif. She is the daughter of Mike and Kathy Hyams. Brittany is a biology major in her fourth year at Pacific.
