2007 (Sophomore): Hampered by injuries for the second season in a row, Santos saw action in 55 games for the Tigers including 52 starts playing primarily as Pacific's designated player. Limited to hitting duties for most of the season, Briana posted a .247 batting average as she finished the year 38-for-154. Of her 38 hits, 10 came as the extra bases variety as she tallied six doubles and four homeruns on the year. Santos added 28 RBI and 16 runs scored to the Tigers' run total for the 2007 season while at the plate. In the circle, Briana made 15 appearances for Pacific with four starts as she completed her second season with a 4-2 record and a 4.93 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.
2006 (Freshman): Despite numerous injuries and setbacks, Briana showed why she will be a force in the Big West for years to come as she finished her first season at Pacific by being named the conference's Freshman Pitcher of the Year. Additionally, Santos was named to the all-conference second team, earning the honors as both a pitcher and a utility player. As the Tigers' workhorse and No. 1 pitcher in an extremely young pitching staff, Santos finished the season with a 10-7 record and a team-low 2.30 ERA. The only Tiger to log over 100 innings, Briana threw 106.1 innings while appearing in 22 games with 19 starts. Throughout the season, Santos threw 10 complete games, four of which were complete game shutouts. She picked up her first collegiate win in the Tigers' first game of the season as she threw a complete game 4-0 shutout against Santa Clara on Feb. 11. In addition to her prowess in the circle, Santos was just as good at the plate for the Tigers, finishing the season with the third highest batting average, hitting at a .328 clip. Despite not being able to hit for the entire conference season due to injury, Briana finished the year with four home runs and 17 RBIs in just 58 at-bats. Her .552 slugging percentage was good enough for third highest on the team.
High School: Santos is a 2005 graduate of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, Calif., where she was a four-time letterwinner in softball. A four-time All-Sierra League First Team member and two-time All-CIF and All-County First Team member, Santos separated herself from the rest of her competition during her sophomore season as she was named to the First Team All-California team in just her second season of play. In addition, Santos was named the league's MVP in 2003. She would replicate her accomplishments after her senior season as a First Team All-State player and the league's MVP once again. However, she added another trophy to her shelf as she was named the Orange County Player of the Year in 2005 for her play on the field. Academically, Santos was named to her school's honor roll in each of her four years.
Personal: Briana Santos was born in Long Beach, Calif. She is the daughter of Rey and Pam Santos and has one older brother, Rey. In her third year at Pacific, Briana is a communication major.
