2008 (Sophomore):
Karie continued on as the Tigers' main catcher and saw time in 33 games, starting all but one. She led all players with a .994 fielding percentage and had the team's lowest error count at only one. Offensively Wilson registered 19 hits, one double and four RBI at the end of the season. One of her best offensive performances of the year came against Saint Mary's in the first leg of a doubleheader on Feb. 10 when she went a perfect two-for-two at the plate and drew a walk. She went on to record four other multi-hit games, including two more two-hit game in her two-for-three and two-for-four performances when Pacific split a Cal Poly doubleheader on April 26.
2007 (Freshman):
Despite being a freshman, Wilson assumed the Tigers' starting catcher duties in her first season of work for Pacific in 2007. Behind the plate, Karie started 49 contests while appearing in 50 games. Defensively, Wilson threw out 17 would be base stealers in 39 attempts for a 43.5 percent average, tops among starting catchers in the Big West. At the plate, Wilson hit .231 (28-for-121) with two doubles and one homerun. In her first collegiate contest, Karie went two-for-three with three RBI. Her first career hit was a three-run homerun as the Tigers defeated Tulsa, 9-1, on Feb. 9.
High School:
A 2006 graduate of Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Ariz., Wilson is a 5-9 catcher and corner infielder. Karie was a four-time letterwinner who grew into one of the top offensive threats in the state of Arizona, posting batting averages over .500 in both her sophomore and senior seasons. In 2004, Wilson led Deer Valley HS to the 5A Arizona State Championship while hitting .516 and driving in 27 runs including seven home runs on the season. During her final two seasons with the Skyhawks, Karie amassed an impressive list of individual awards. She was a two-time All-Region Player of the Year, a two-time member of the All-Arizona Second Team, a two-time MVP of Deer Valley HS and a three-time offensive player of the year. As a senior, Karie delivered her best statistical season, posting a .542 batting average.
Personal:
Karie Wilson was born in Glendale, Ariz. She is the daughter of Robert and Ingrid Wilson and has one brother, Rob. Karie is a sport medicine major in her third year at Pacific.
