Tigers Fall to Jacksonville 4-2

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific softball team fell 4-2, to Jacksonville in the second game of the Pacific Mini Tournament, March 16 at Bill Simoni Field. The loss moves the Tigers to 12-10 on the season.
The Tigers were led by Briana Santos' (Garden Grove, Calif.) homerun, the second of her career but Pacific could not overcome a four-run deficit.
Jacksonville struck first in the top of the first inning when Shannon Jensen singled to right field, scoring Katie Pestrak. They would add two more runs in the top of the second inning on Stephanie Farabee's home run to left center.
With the score 0-3 the Tigers answered back in the bottom of the inning with Santos solo home run. Pacific added another run in the bottom of the fifth as Kristen Allen (Citrus Grove, Calif.) doubled to leftfield, scoring Gina Carbonatto (Lake Stevens, Calif.) on the throw.
Jacksonville's final run came in the top of the seventh when Janine Palumbo singled up the middle, scoring Pestrak from third.
Alyce Jorgenson (Los Altos, Calif.) took the loss, her third on the year after pitching 1.2 innings, giving up four hits on three runs. The win was credited to Katie Dobson, her eighth on the year.
