Greg will begin his second season as the head coach of Pacific's men's and women's swimming programs in 2006.

In Meehan's first season at Pacific, the Tigers placed first in 12 of 28 individual events at the Big West Championships where the men and women both finished in fourth place overall. Under his guidance Pacific sent three swimmers to the NCAA championships and broke an impressive seven school records in the 2005-2006 season.

Meehan primarily coaches the distance and middle distance Freestyle events, the IM events, and the 200 Fly and 200 Back events for the Tigers.

This fall Greg was selected as a manager for a United States team that will compete in the World University Games held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2007.

Prior to coming to Pacific, Meehan spent four years as an assistant coach for the women's team at UCLA under head coach Cyndi Gallagher. He specialized in working with the Bruin distance and IM corps, in addition to recruiting duties. Meehan helped the Bruins to an 18th place finish at the NCAA Swimming Championships in 2005, after a seventh place finish in 2004. Meehan has helped coach 33 All-Americans in his time at UCLA, and has assisted in guiding the team to breaking 19 school records.

In the summer of 2003, Meehan served as the assistant coach for the USA Swimming National Distance Camp at the USOC training Center in Colorado Springs, Col. The top young male and female distance swimmers from around the country were selected to attend.

Prior to his time at UCLA, Meehan was the assistant women's swimming coach at Princeton for two seasons. While at Princeton, Meehan helped coach the Tigers to a 17-0 record, including 14-0 in Ivy League competition. In addition, the Tigers won the Ivy League crown in 2000 and 2001, and finished 25th at the 2001 NCAA Championships.

Before joining the Princeton staff, Meehan served one season as an assistant coach and interim head coach for the men's and women's swimming team at William and Mary.

Meehan is a graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. While at Rider, Meehan competed in the 200-yard backstroke and was a member of several MAAC conference champion relays.

Greg and his wife, Tess, have one son, Salvatore, born in December of 2004.
