Irvine, Calif. - Pacific sophomore Jun Huang (Guangzhou, China) closed out the regular season by earning her first Big West Athlete of the Week award this year for her performance in the Tigers' dual meet against UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 3.

In the meet Huang finished first in the 200 Back by swimming a time of 1:59.85, which is the fastest recorded time in the Big West this year by over three full seconds. She also finished fourth in the 200 Free with a time of 1:52.93. With the help of Huang's performances the Tigers defeated the Gauchos by a score of 138.5 -121.5.

Huang and the Tigers will return to the pool Wednesday, Feb. 21 for the 2007 Big West Swimming & Diving Championships to be held in Long Beach, Calif. The four-day event will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 24.
