Ja-Neil Bragg Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA has announced that Pacific junior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) has qualified to compete in two events at the 2006-2007 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. This year the meet will be held in Minneapolis, Minn. on Mar. 8-10.

This season Bragg has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 IM and the 400 IM. In the 200 IM Bragg is entering the championship meet with a qualifying time of 2:01.05 and in the 400 IM she is entering the meet with a time of 4:15.21. Ja-Neil swam her 400 IM qualifying time at the Texas A&M Invite earlier this year, where she set a new school record in the event. As a sophomore, she recorded the second fastest time in school history in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.98.

In 2006, Bragg qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 IM, the 400 IM, and the 200 Free. She finished 44th in the 200 IM and 32nd in the 400 IM. As a sophomore she finished 40th in the 400 IM.
