The Tigers Women's Swim Team Sign Two For 2005-06 Season

STOCKTON, Calif.- University of the Pacific women's swim team announced today the signing of two recruits for the 2005-06 season. Pacific signed Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.) and Summer Morgan (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) to national letters of intent.
Lewis is currently a senior at Sultana High School in Hesperia, Calif., where she is a three-year letterwinner specializing in the Free and Back events. In 2002-03 at the CIF division IV championships, she set the record in the 50 Free with a time of 23.96. This past year, Lewis earned Scholastic All-American honors. In the classroom, Jenny has earned the Presidential Scholar's Award, been on the principal's honor roll, is the vice president of the science club, and is a member of the math and key club. Lewis plans on majoring in sports medicine at Pacific next fall.
Morgan is currently a senior at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, Washington. In her club swimming career, she holds numerous records. She has attended the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2003, placing 10th and 16th overall in 400 IM. Morgan has also attended the YMCA Nationals every year since 2001, placing in the top 16 in all individual events each year. Morgan has also excelled in the classroom, earning the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence in 2002 and 2003 as well as being awarded the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award in 2004. Morgan plans on majoring in art and graphic design at Pacific next fall.
"Summer and Jennifer are both going to be huge additions to our team," said interim head coach Daryn Glasgow. "Both of them have a strong training base and will be able to come in and make an immediate impact on our team."
