Pacific Women Defeat San Jose State, 136-125

San Jose, Calif. - The Pacific women's swimming team recorded first place finishes in 10 of 14 events on Dec. 9 in a meet against San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif. With their 136-125 victory the Tigers advanced to 2-1 in dual meets on the season, while the Spartans fell to 1-7 on the year.

Junior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) led the way for the Tigers with three individual wins on the day. Bragg finished first in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:22.85, in the 200 Back with a time of 2:06.26, and in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.86.

Freshman Brooke Cashion (Irvine, Calif.) and juniors Ziada Jardine (Cape Town, South Africa) and Kristin Okazaki (Auburn, Wash.) each took first place in two events a piece as well.

Cashion touched first in the 200 Free and the 500 Free with times of 1:54.90 and 5:04.55, while Jardine swept the Breaststroke events with times of 1:03.87 in the 100 Breast and 2:19.94 in the 200 Breast and Okazaki recorded first place finishes in the 100 Fly and 200 Fly with times of 57.55 and 2:06.74.

The 200 Medley Relay team composed of freshman Devonie Migues (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and juniors Jardine, Okazaki, and Bragg also finished in first place with a time of 1:47.67.

The Tigers will next be in action on Jan. 13 when the men and women take on Cal State University Bakersfield in Bakersfield, Calif. at 1:00 p.m.
