Spring 2008 (Freshman):
Olga continued her strong fall for a 6-13 finish in spring singles play. She tested out time at two different positions, posting a 4-7 record from the No. 3 position and 2-6 in the fourth spot. She also spent time with two doubles partners, finishing at en even 3-3 with Clara Schuhmacher and then compiled a 6-8 record with partner Jolanta Twarowska. Although the Tigers fell 5-2 to No. 58 University of Oregon, Olga brought her team closer to victory after rebounding from an early-game loss to take a match victory against a ranked opponent (1-6, 6-4, 6-2) on Feb. 10.
Fall 2007 (Freshman):
In her first stint as a Tiger Olga compiled a 4-6 singles record. Two of those victories came on Gumenyuk's way to qualifying for the semi-finals of the Saint Mary's Invitational where she eventually fell to Saint Mary's Stephanie Ordoveza in four sets. Olga also won her first round match at the ITA Regionals. In doubles play, Gumenyuk paired with Jolanta Twarowska and the duo played to a record of 4-5 including a victory in the first round of the ITA Regionals, and a win in the quarterfinals of the consolation round in the Saint Mary's Invitational.
High School:
Olga came to Pacific from Gymnasium 117 in Kiev, Ukraine, where she graduated in 2007.
Personal:
Olga Gumenyuk is daughter of Bohdan and Tamara Gumenyuk. In her second year at Pacific, Olga is bioengineering major. In her free time Olga enjoys basketball, music, reading, swimming and traveling.
