2004-05: During the fall tournament season, Katharina compiled a 3-2 record in singles action. Her best finish came at teh ITA REgionals where she advanced to the Round of 16. 2003-04: Heil finished the fall season with an overall record of 6-4 in singles and 4-3 in doubles, paired with Viktoria Szendrei. During the spring dual match season, Heil split time playing both No.1 and No.2 singles. She compiled a 9-12 record for the spring and an overall record of 15-16 in singles. In doubles, Heil was partnered with Vana Mrazovic, with whom she compiled a 12-9 record, the only doubles team to finish with a winning percentage over .500. For the second year she was named to the All-Big West second team in singles while garnering first team honors in doubles. 2002-03: In only her second season with the Tigers, Heil found herself playing No.1 singles in all but one match for Pacific. Despite the shift to the top spot for the Tigers, Katharina played well, finishing the dual match season with an overall record of 10-10. Heil started the season off extremely well as she began dual match play with four straight victories. For her play, Heil was honored with a selection to the All-Big West second team for singles. In addition, Katharina earned All-Big West second team honors in doubles with her partner Szendrei as the pair went 8-11 at the No. 1 doubles position for the Tigers. 2001-02: Heil posted an overall record of 8-15, including a 6-13 dual match record, in her first year with the Tigers. Paired with Susanne Bertel (8-9), and Melinda Kocsis (2-1), Katharina posted a 10-10 doubles record. Heil was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team in doubles with Bertel, along with receiving All-Big West Conference honorable mention recognition for her singles play. HIGH SCHOOL: Heil attended Johann-Schoener High School in Bavaria, Germany. At Johann-Schoener, she achieved a National German Ranking for Youth of 46th and a National German Ranking for Women of 146th. PERSONAL: Katharina Heil was born on August 31, 1981 and is the daughter of Thomas and Anne-Ruth Heil. In her fourth year at Pacific, Katharina is majoring in business. |
