Fresno Calif.- The 2007-08 season began for the Pacific women' tennis team on Saturday, Sept. 21 as three teams hit the court in doubles competition at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic.

In the opening doubles round of 32, the doubles team of freshman Olga Gumenyuk (Kiev, Ukraine) and junior Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany) defeated Karina Jarlkaganova from Sacramento State and Audrey Bardot of Nevada, 8-3. Meanwhile, sophomores Svenja Arens (Bensburg, Germany) and Sasha Fisher (Southampton, Bermuda) defeated University of Arizona's Katie Orletsky and Natalia Toporowska, 9-8. Pacific's third team, freshman Kateryna Nezhura (Kiev, Ukraine) and junior Clara Schumacher (Zaragoza, Spain ) received a a bye into the round of 16.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, all three Pacific teams fell in the round of 16.
