Stanford, Calif. - After advancing to the third round of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Saturday, October 20, junior Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany) and sophomore Svenja Arens (Bensburg, Germany) fell in hard fought matches to ranked opponents.

Twarowska lost to No. 4 Jessica Nguyen from Stanford 6-2, 6-1, while Arens fell to No. 11 Whitney Deason from Stanford 6-3, 6-1.

In consolation play, Olga Gumenyuk (Kiev, Ukraine) had to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

The Tigers will return to action in January, as they compete in the UNLV Quad in Las Vegas, Nevada.
