Stanford, Calif. Senior Natalia Kostenko (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and freshman Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany) each won their first round match, before falling in the second round at the ITA Regionals on Friday, Oct. 21.

Kostenko and Twarowska dominated their opponents in the opening round as Kostenko did not drop a game, while Twarowska lost just one game.

Both Pacific players battled hard in the second round, however the Tigers were unable to upset the No. 4 or No. 6 seeds. Twarowska fell to the No. 4 seed Ekaterina Burduli (WSU), 6-1, 6-2, while Kostenko fell to No. 6 Stephanie Kusano of Cal, 6-2, 7-5.

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 15 in the consolation bracket of the ITA Regionals.
