
Mrazovic, Arens and Twarowska Earn All-Big West Honors
May 1, 2007 Irvine, Calif. - Three Pacific women's tennis players, senior Vana Mrazovic (Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro), sophomore Jolanta Twarowska (Hamburg, Germany), and freshman Svenja Arens (Bensburg, Germany), earned All-Big West honors, as announced May 1st. Mrazovic earned second team All-Big West in singles, while adding an honorable mention honor in doubles with partner Arens. Mrazovic ended the season 10-9 at the No. 1 singles position for the Tigers, while teaming with Arens for a 12-7 doubles mark, including 10-6 at No. 2 doubles and 2-1 at No. 1. Individually, Arens and Twarowska earned honorable mention singles honors. Arens posted an 11-11 record, which includes an impressive 10-6 mark at No. 3 singles. Twarowska posted a 7-12 mark, but played some of her best tennis to close the season. At the Big West Championships, Jolanta defeated Cal State Northridge's Kanykey Koichumanova, ending the first team All-Big West selection's then 13-match winning steak. For Mrazovic, the honors marked the sixth and seventh of her playing career, while Arens and Twarowska were each honored for the first time.
