2008 (Sophomore):
Despite beginning the season hampered by injury, Svenja continued her play as one of the top hitters in the conference for the Tigers, finishing her second season with 255 kills, third best among all Pacific hitters. Even more impressive, Engelhardt continued her reign as one of the most potent offensive threats behind the serving stripe as the sophomore put down a team-best 43 aces, posting a 0.50 per game average. During the season, Svenja nabbed her first-ever player of the week honor as she was named the American Scouting Report's player of the week on Sept. 29 after leading the Tigers to a sweep of No. 22 Long Beah State and a 3-1 win over UC Davis by hitting .356 and notching a combined 27 kills in her first week back from injury. For the year, Engelhardt picked up where she left off the season before, earning her second All-Big West Honorable Mention award in as many seasons.
2007 (Freshman):
Svenja exploded on the scene for the Tigers in her freshman season, finishing with 261 kills and a team-leading 64 aces. Engelhardt's 64 aces set a new Pacific single-season record, despite only appearing in 24 of the Tigers' 27 matches. She finished the season ranked third in the nation with 0.77 SApg. Svenja capped her freshman campaign by earning All-Big West Freshman Team honors and All-Big West Honorable Mention accolades. Engelhardt also tied Pacific's single match record with 11 aces in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Cal State Northridge on Oct. 13. Svenja finished the season with 10 double-doubles, including a career-high 16 digs and 20 kills in the Tigers' upset 3-1 win over No. 20 Cal Poly on Sept. 29. Engelhardt posted her career-high of 23 kills in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 22.
High School/Club:
Engelhardt graduated from Helmholtz-Gymnasium in Heidelberg, Germany, in April of 2007. She is a highly accomplished beach volleyball player in Germany, competing in eight tournaments during the summer of 2007 alone. Svenja and her beach volleyball partner, Britta Buthe, captured three first-place finishes and were ranked as high as 30th as a team. Engelhardt played for the German National Beach Volleyball Team in September of 2006, helping her team place third in the FIVB World Championships.

Johnson On Engelhardt:
"Svenja has the ability to become the best player in the Big West. She has the ability to score not only from an attack, but from the service line which makes her one of the best point scores in the conference. She has continued to develop more range as an attacker and this will be her best season as a Tiger."
