2005 Tigers Fall, 3-1, to Alumnae In Exhibition Action

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's volleyball dropped a 3-1 decision to the Pacific Alumnae team 22-30, 30-23, 30-23, 30-26 in an exhibition match on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
The 2005 team came out ready to play in game one as Pacific hit .483 as a team, with 17 kills and just three errors to claim game one 30-22.
With as many as four former All-Americans on the floor at one time, the Pacific alumnae team came roaring back. The former Tigers took the final three games to claim the match as the alumnae finished the match with a .387 hitting percentage. Three-time All-American Elsa Stegemann (1995-1999) led the alumnae with a match-high 18 kills, while former Tiger Megan Hauschild-Seifert (1998-02) finished with 12 kills on 19 attacks to post a .647 hitting percentage.
Senior Ashley Groothuis (Aurora, Neb.) led the 2005 squad with 14 kills and a .478 hitting percentage.
Pacific officially opens its 2005 regular season schedule at the Marquette Kick-Off Tournament on Aug. 26-27. The Tigers open tournament action against Virginia Commonwealth on Friday, Aug. 26, at 4:30 p.m. (CT)
