FULLERTON, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers women's volleyball team fell, 3-0, to Cal State Fullerton in the Big West Conference opener on Friday, Sept. 23. Game scores for the match were, 30-25, 30-27, 30-22. The Tigers fall to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the Big West Conference after the loss, while Cal State Fullerton improved to 7-5 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Down 26-25 in game one, Cal State Fullerton took control of the match as the Titans capitalized on a two Pacific errors and got two kills to take a 30-25 game one win. The Tigers were outhit by Cal State Fullerton .244 to .191 in game one.

Game two also saw the Tigers on the wrong side of a .357 to .231 hitting percentage dispairity. Pacific held a 13-12 lead midway through game two, but Cal State Fullerton sccored 14 of the next 22 points as the Titans took a 26-21 lead. Cal State Fullerton took the game 30-27.

Cal State Fullerton jumped out on the Tigers in game three as the Titans took an 8-0 lead. Pacific, however, answered with nine of the next 11 points to pull back within a point at 10-9. The Titans responded by scoring 13 of the next 15 points, including an 11-point run to claim a 23-11 advantage. Cal State Fullerton went on to win the match with a 30-22 game three victory.

Pacific will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 24 as the Tigers travel to Riverside to take on the UC Riverside Highlanders at 7 p.m.
