2004 (Junior): Sarah used her redshirt option in 2004. Junior College: Sarah attended San Joaquin Delta College in 2003. She helped the Mustang women's water polo team to a 10-18 record, while playing at the whole set and utility positions. Meerdink was a key figure on the offense as she racked up 42 goals and dished out 23 assists. She was also very aggressive on defensive, coming up with 42 steals. Sarah's outstanding year resulted in winning the MVP and a place on the All-Bay Valley Conference 2nd team. Prior to her time at Delta, Sarah went to Cal Poly for two years. High School: Meerdink went to Lincoln High School in Stockton, Calif. As a Trojan, she earned three letters gY water polo playing the whole set, guard, and utility positions. In her three years of performance on the team, Meerdink was named to the all-league 1st team, voted the Most Improved Player on her team, and was selected as the MVP of the Davis Tournament. Sarah also excelled in academics as she was part of numerous clubs, was a four-year Deans List member, and is a CSF lifetime member. Personal: Sarah Elizabeth Meerdink was born on January 7, 1983 and is the daughter of Pam and Denis Meerdink. In her second year at Pacific, Sarah is majoring in dental hygiene with a future toward being a dental hygienist then going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. |
