San Diego, Calif. - Despite outscoring the Roadrunners by a 5-3 margin in the fourth quarter , the Pacific women's water polo team was defeated by Cal State Bakersfield on Mar. 15 by a score of 11-9 in San Diego, Calif. The loss was the Tigers' second of the day and their fourth of the weekend as they fell to 3-16 on the year, while CSUB improved to 12-10 on the season with the win.

Sophomore Alex Kutac (Houston, Texas) and freshman Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the Tigers with two goals a piece in the loss, while five others chipped in with single goals to round out the Pacific offense. Scoring one goal each for the Tigers were Courtney Boettger (Stockton, Calif.), Bethany Quertermous (Humble, Texas), Virginia McConnell (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), and Kellie Fletcher (Roseville, Calif.).

After being outscored by the Roadrunners 5-3 in the first half, the Tigers were again outscored in the third period 3-1 before they tallied five late goals to eventually fall by a final score of 11-9. The Pacific women's water polo team will return to the pool tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. when they take on Colorado State at the Aztek Aquaplex in San Diego, Calif.
