2004 (Sophomore): Himlan closed out the season in 2004 with one of her best performances as she was Pacific's top finisher at the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 13. Jill posted a time of 24:43 in the 6K race. Jill led the Tigers in two of six races and was second on the team in the remaining four. 2003 (Freshman): Jill made an immediate contribution to the Pacific squad in her freshman season as she competed in six of the Tigers' seven races, placing second on the team in five of those events. Hillman's best times of the season came at the San Francisco State Invitational when she posted a 25:06.3 in the 6K race and in the Mills Invitational, where Himlan finished the 5k in 21:38. High School: Jill attended Santa Cruz High School, where she was a state competitor in track and field for the 4 x 100 relay and played volleyball and basketball. She graduated in 2002 as the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and class valedictorian. Personal: Jill Himlan is the daughter of Eric and Patti Himlan. She has one sibling, Brian (23). Jill enjoys playing volleyball, basketball and the saxophone. In her third year at Pacific, Jill is majoring in applied mathematics, Jill hopes to have a career in mathematics, possibly as a teacher. |
