2007 (Junior): Meghan proved to be a key part of the Tiger team in her third season with Pacific, as she helped to lead a young Tiger squad in many of the meets. Mullen ran a personal best in the 6K at the Chico Invitational with a time of 23:38. Twice Mullen finished 13th in meets, at the Sacramento State Inviational with a time of 19:31, and at the Gator Invitational with a 23:24 time. At the Big West Championships Mullen finished 43rd overall with a 24:13.8 time, and at the NCAA West Regionals had a a team-high finish of 170th, at 25:35.80. A leader in school as well as on the course, Mullen was awarded the Pacific Tigers Leadership Award for the 2007-2008 school year. 2006 (Sophomore): In Mullen's second season with the team her best times were 10:49 in the 3K - recorded at the Stanislaus Open, 16:10 in the 4K - recorded at the Stanford Invitational, 19:52 in the 5K - recorded at the USF Invitational, and 24:14 in the 6K - recorded at the San Francisco State Invitational. Throughout the season she was one of the top two runners for the Tigers at every meet. Her top finish of the year was 23rd, recorded at the San Francisco State Invitational. 2005 (Freshman): As a freshman Mullen finished as one of the top five runners for the team in almost every race. One of her best performances of the year came at the Gator invitational on Oct. 1 when she covered the 6k course in 25:02. She placed 29th overall in that meet. High School: Meghan graduated from St. Ignatius Preparatory School in San Francisco, Calif. She earned a combined 10 athletic letters at St. Ignatius in cross country (three), soccer (four) and track (three). Meghan was named to the West Coast Athletic All-League teams following her sophomore and senior seasons. In 2004 she won St. Ignatius' Julius Yap Award for the top cross country or track athlete. In addition, Meghan was a two-time WCAL All-League member in soccer. Personal: Meghan Marika Mullen is the daughter of Tom Mullen and Kathy Marika. She was born in San Francisco and has one sister, Colleen (19). In her third year at Pacific, Meghan is majoring in political science. She is also pursuing minors in biology and economics. |
